Zane was able to fill his tag Friday evening. He has put in around 25 hours this season passing on many does and a few smaller bucks. This isn't his biggest or the one he was after but it was by far the most exited he has been with a harvest. We have been getting a lot of pictures of sparring bucks and the larger ones are starting to get little irritated with the younger guys. It was about 7:10 and we had been watching a little fork chase around a couple groups of does when they finally left the area. (He is going to run himself into the ground before it starts) I decided to tickled the antlers softly for about 10 seconds and within a minute this guy popped out at 70 yards and came to us on a string. Zane had just enough time to get himself calmed down and made the shot at 30 yards. This was his first hunt from the ground and he absolutely loved it. Being at eye level and exposed was a huge rush for him. We were sitting in some honey suckle and were covered up in does for an hour and a half and he did a very good job of keeping still and not alerting any deer. We got him a bow tag this year and he as been practicing almost every evening. We have set a self imposed limit of 15 yards with his short draw length so its going to be tough but I think we will give it a try. Wish us luck!
