Same here, Garlon at 20-25 % seems to do the best with bark oil. Anything of any size we have been cutting to the ground and treating stumps for best results

I have a Truax, its the flex 88 3 pt and there is 0% chance a 40 hp tractor can lift it. I have a 75 hp and its all it can handle. I would say the 6'GP will have the same issue.

My experience is timely cutting is number one when it comes to how desirable alfalfa is. Stemmy old alfalfa doesn't get much attention. Once it blossoms it goes downhill fast.
