    Snow Geese

This is the dumbest thing I've read on this site ever, to tell someone they're not doing it right. I guess we didn't do it right this past weekend either. SMH

    Snow Geese

Ive killed 1000's of snows, been there done that. You might be using those rounds to jump shoot but there little chance you're killing mature birds at 65+ yards like we do regularly. Case in point, last wed in the heavy wind I was resetting decoys when some dumped in near me. My buddy unloaded...

    Snow Geese

MO Conservation order starts today, E-Caller, extended mags, 3.5" BB the real fun starts now. We'll be near Swan Lake tomorrow thru Sat. This warm weather has 'em on the move north, seems like it's going to be a quick migration if we don't get colder temps quick. Anybody else have plans to hunt?

    Compartmentalization of food plots????

I tried this approach and while you can offer a buffet and cover, it just got to be too much. I'm 3.5 hours from the farm, to be changing out chemicals, fertilizer etc. on long weekends I couldn't keep up with it. Something to think about. I settled in on larger alfalfa plots and corn/bean...

How bad are autumn olive and honeysuckle?

IMO get rid of them now they expand quickly, I have a forever battle going. Autumn olive is brittle and the roots pop out of the ground pretty easy with a loader

    LATE BURN!!!!!

We haven't been able to burn as much as we'd like in the last several years and the fescue has made a come back. We waited until this past weekend, let the fescue green up then smoked it. A nice slow rollin boring burn, perfect. When the fire breaks are done right, it really makes it pretty...

    Switchgrass

With the chemical prices I'm waiting till spring green up. Not sure you would gain anything by spraying this fall

    Alfalfa

I have in the past but don't anymore. I now use RR seed and plant in the spring. You can absolutely broadcast wheat, rye or bob oats anytime now with your alfalfa. I wouldn't go heavy, it can be competition for nutes, water and sunlight. Never tried red clover

Single most important ingredient in a food plot?

Same situation in NC MO Putnam Co. We planted our brassicas late July with very little rain since. I just picked up some bob oats and rye to over seed

    Iowa House File 2410

Don't let this happen or you'll end up like us in Missouri, non residents will be flooding your state, I wish we were a draw state instead of over the counter. Mo Dept of Conservation only cares about $$$ and it's been that way for a long time. Act now before it's too late, IF they change your...

Velvet shedding & buck dispersement - where they go?

This watering hole is in a old tractor crossing in the fence and it's just been wallowed out from tractor tires over the years. This spot seems to be a natural gathering place, the apple trees near this area are sure helping as well. I haven't seen those bucks since. The 10 looks young and we...

Velvet shedding & buck dispersement - where they go?

I run cuddelinks from April till Jan and my place is full of doe and small bucks all summer. Then about now they start showing up, hope to see more options. These showed up for the first time early Aug and seeing them pluck apples from the trees in the background. There's a low spot that holds...
