Sorry I'm late to the party commenting on this...When I first saw the thread I got triggered and had to go for counseling for a few days. I'm OK...the Xanax and Diazepam have kicked in so i can function now. This is how I think my year would look opposed to how it looks now.
Deer No Deer
January: Deer Hunt, feed deer, trail cams Ice Fish, small game hunt
February: feed deer, trail cams, shed hunt Ice Fish, small game hunt
March: Shed Hunt Take trips North to Ice fish (WI/MN/ND/Canada), go to NC to trout fish
April: Mineral sites, food plots, habitat stuff Spring Crappie fishing
May: Mineral sites, food plots Turkey hunting (maybe), crappie/bluegill fishing, mushroom hunt
June: Mineral sites, trail cameras, tree stands Camping, Bass fishing, night bowfishing
July: Mineral sites, trail cameras, tree stands, start fall plots Camping, catfishing
August: Food plots, trail cameras bow hunt High country Mule Deer
September: finish fall plots, western hunting trip Elk Hunt
October: Deer Hunt Squirrel Hunt
November: Deer Hunt Rifle hunt Mule Meer in the rut
December: Deer Hunt Bear hunt in NC behind hounds, Ice fish
Sounds lofty maybe, but thinking about it...the money I spend every year on whitetails would pay for multiple out of state trips per year if I hunted with/stayed with buddies. Wouldn't be a terrible life I suppose, but I'd much rather have my whitetails.
