Took both my boy youth hunting the last couple of weeks. This was the toughest youth season that I have hunted. The birds were hen'd up early this year. Should make some good hunting by 2nd season! I got Lane out of school early last Thursday and we headed to our honey hole called the Killing corner. We saw 3 toms and a group of hens about 600 yards away. I knew we had our work cut out for us with all those hens. About 2 hrs later a saw 1 tom push half the hens east and the other tom push the other half west. This left one tom all by himself.
That's all we needed. I went crazy on the call and got his attention. And 10min later he was standing 40 yards away with his neck stuck strait up in the air. Lane has now shot 4 toms in a row at this spot all on Thursday night. He was 25lbs 1in spurs and 9.5 beard.
