It feels like just yesterday my 8 year old was tagging along on my hunting trips, and this year it’s me who has been doing the tagging along.
this is a pic of Owen the first time he went hunting with me.
Owen is like me and really don’t have much interest in hunting with a gun, and was bound and determined to shoot a turkey with his bow this year.
He hit a nice tom earlier this year during youth season but hit him a little far back and the turkey flew off over the hill never to be seen again.
Last night we saw a few birds in the field I shot my second bird in this year so decided to go on a quick hunt this morning. It didn’t take long before 2 hens, a Jake and tom came out. For some reason the tom held up at 60 yards and just would not come into our setup.
All of a sudden two Jakes came in from behind us.
