Buddy of mine waited 4 or so years to come out. This deer we called “red” as he had this bright red (lil orangish maybe) fur during early fall & summer that set him apart. He’s been like that since 2. He was either 6 or 7. He made about a 10” jump from last year - was Time to target. He had a gigantic body. Gazillion of trail cams & years of history. I had seen him 3-4 times in archery & he lived in a 50-100 acre area. Not a big travel area at all. I kinda had that feeling he’d see him as everything was perfect for wind, location, his main travel area. Buddy Rod made great shot and we were super stoked for him. Body on him is huge and Rod is a pork chop himself (ha!! ;) ) so doesn’t do the rack Justice. But - Red is dead & happy hunter & I was happy to see a mature & ripe buck make a memory for him......
