Smokeless Muzzleloader, cva hunter

Loving this gun!!! Got another one? Haha

Dropped two does with it this year. 200yds and 170yds. Amazed how nice it is not having smoke and how flat shooting this gun is compared to an Encore

What powder/bullet are you using? After lugging my 700 SML around during shotgun I wish I wouldn't have sold it to you. Lol

I shot 58 grains of 4198 with a knurled 250gr Barnes. I’ve only shot it about ten times, love it! Didn’t take hardly anything to get dialed in

Would like to get it sit out to 300 before next year but really it’s just going to be a doe killing gun most likely. I’m liking the no smoke and flatter shooting mainly!

Im shooting 63g H4198 out of my Scout conversion with Fury 275g Star Tip 2s and it seems to be a good combo... Groups good, shoots flat, and plows some good holes.
1st target is 5 shots @ 100yds
2nd target is 3 shots @ 200yds
Ive only shot it on paper at 300yds twice... Just under 3" group and about 10" of drop with a 200yd zero
Doe was only about 80yds when I shot her, thats the exit side... It blew deer parts and blood all over the trees and ground 10yds behind her. She only went 20-30yds down hill but even though it was short the bloodtrail was crazy

That's what I like about the CVA Scout that I have. The 700's work great for the late afternoon sits but when going out for a walkabout, the CVA's shine. And, they are no slouch when used for the afternoon sits. My CVA performed flawlessly when I took it out for an afternoon sit and had a 175 yard opportunity.

Dropped two more does with the gun last week - one at 207 and the other at just over 100. The first three dropped since the shots hit the spine, so not surprising. Last one dropped with a heart shot. I'm guessing this gun packs a bit more punch than a normal muzzy? Anyway, looking to get another!

I like when it’s easy to find the deer, it appears they don’t go far after being hit with that gun! Wow! How much recoil does that thing have?

Kick is not noticeable at all. No more than an Encore loaded with 110 gr Blackhorn 209 shooting the same 250gr Barnes.

Here's the rankings on kick from my guns...

12g mossberg with 3.5" turkey mags (most kick by a long shot I'd say)
300 win mag (not bad)
CVA Smokeless (even less bad)
TC Encore (same as CVA but so dang smokey after the shot on calm days. lol)
