Any suggestions for getting American plumbs to grow in any numbers..the deer are eating mine as fast as I plant them..I assume tubing each tree is the only answer??
Yessir!!! Not saying they can’t get in but look at this…. If against the ground- no way.I like the idea..will the poly keep the rabbits at bay?? Do you have any pics by chance..
Thank You!
Just get 8' t posts at menards.rabbits and deer eat everything..High numbers.. I was thinking I could use 6ft posts with 8 foot fence.,,.and a few supports up high??
Don't neglect protecting from mice too. Spoken by someone who is going to replace 2 out of 7 fruit trees planted just last fall. I fenced out the deer, but the mice/rabbits got me and chewed on several trees and girdled two of them to the point that I see no new buds/leaves this spring. FWIW, I have lost young trees in years past during droughts and not watering them. My farm is in southern Iowa though, if you are in northern Iowa those few degrees of temps might make a difference.I’ve been thinking about doing something like this but the only place would be in my sanctuary areas and my question is are you watering them ? Would they survive if I didn’t? I don’t want to do something that’s going to require me to be intruding on my sanctuary with any kind of regularity
How does this stuff hold up, multi year use?Yessir!!! Not saying they can’t get in but look at this…. If against the ground- no way.
I can fence off a whole acre pry 5-10x faster than I would caging things

I’m hearing iffy stuff. But in my situation…. I need it to last 3-4 years. Which I’ll just check it every few months. If any issues - I’ll patch it or fix. If someone wants something that will last say, a decade or more…. Run 8’ woven wire. That’s what i did on my tree nursery 10 years ago. Still like new.How does this stuff hold up, multi year use?
