First Season Ten Gauge Turkey

I was fortunate enough to take my biggest bird weight wise last Monday for the first season opener. I purchased a ten gauge back in the 90’s when I was hot and heavy into goose hunting. I always wanted to take a turkey with it and I decide. this was the year Last Monday I was able to coax three hens into range with a gobbler in tow. I shot him at 30 yards. He weighed 27# with a ten inch beard and matching 1 1/8 hooks I thank the Lord for another amazing gift and this will not be the last bird I take with the SP-10.

I don’t know what’s more impressive the bird or you for lugging around a 10 gauge. Probably weighs as much as the turkey. .
Thanks , This gun has basically been a safe queen since I quit goose hunting. It drives me crazy having guns just sit in the safe , especially guns I have got a history with. So this year in honor of Quaker Boys 50th anniversary and the ten gauge being the preferred gun of Dick Kirby, I decided this was the year to knock the dust off Glad I did. It will get a walk in the woods a few hunts every year from here on in.
BTW you’re not lying about the weight it’s a tank. It’s like toting a telephone pole through the woods lol.
