I have had good results with “throw and grow” method as well with small seeds such as brassicas. Would recommmend using treated urea or applying close to an incoming rain (a day or less) to minimize Nitrogen losses.

Think the derecho helped the cover in my area that got hit hard about 5 years ago. 120 + straight line winds. A lot of work cleaning up. Nature TSI program I guess Not sure if lost many deer from my recollection. Sure some lost but nothing like EHD losses from last year. Think down 35 - 80%...
