I was wondering if it is getting to late in the season to be rattling. I rattled the other afternoon when a buck was a couple hundred yards away and he ran the other way. Just wondering what others are doing.
Im kind of new to muzzleloader hunting and have just purchased the new Traditions Vortek. I am wondering what some of your favorite bullets are and how many grains of powder work the best. Thanks
Tommorrow is going to be my first time to ever try to bow hunt turkeys. I dont have any experience with a tom decoy and am wondering if I should us it this early in the season? There are half a dozen or so gobbers in the area every morning and I just cant decide whether or not to set up b-mobile.
Whacked this guy at 7 am on 4/24/08 in southern Nebraska. Turkeys were henned up and overhunted, would not respond or come to a call but I was just in the right place at the right time. 7.5 inch beard and 7/8 inch spurs. First Merriams tukery.

Im heading out to southwestern Nebraska on Wednesday to hunt merriams turkeys for the weekend and am curious to learn what tactics work best for doing so. Do these birds respond to calls as well as easterns and when is the best time of the season to be out there hunting them.
Im going to be going on a merriams turkey hunt in southwestern Nebraska this spring and am not sure of the best time to book the hunt as far as prime time for working some birds is. any advise would be great.
I am just curious on how some of you do your calling sequences and setups this time of year with mating season going on. When are you having the best luck mornings or evenings etc. Thanks
