    Youth archery sites question

I'm new to setting up my first youth bow too(hel_, any bow) and put one of the $25-$30 Cobra kid-sized sites on my daughter's banshee. There will probably be argument, but I think you'll be hard-pressed to find anything as bright for that money. Some might also argue a kid should only have one...

    Varmint Gun?

my .300 WinMag gets not much fun to shoot after about 20 rounds. I can shoot my .22-250 all day. I'm sure we've all shot a few w/ deer slugs while driving deer. I like watchin' 'em roll about 3 times. ;-)

    Options for 2006?

The first 2 options both list "loss of revenue" as a disadvantage, but if hunters aren't purchasing the first anterless license because of cost, then there's already a loss of revenue. Go ahead and make the anterless tags $12 across the board, but raise the any-sex tag to $35 for residents. And...

    Anyone Hunting Water Sources?

I'm no expert, but where I hunt, I can almost guarantee deer coming to the pond for a drink every night. After their drink, walk through the gate through the pasture, hop the fence into the alfalfa field. Like clockwork.

    Meat locker open Sundays

I took my big buck (w/o head, of course ;-) ) to Joel @ J&J this past saturday and if you call his cell phone, he'll meet you @ the locker no problem. So, when you shoot one late in the afternoon, give Joel a call.

    Use Caution!

toss the whole thing. It's not worth getting your whole family food poisoning over. You guys both did the right thing trying to salvage the deer, but honestly, if you just tossed it, it's just one less deer eating corn.

    Gutting Deer

I'm guessing any scent left by the pickup was far worse than the gut pile would have been. ;-) I agree w/ what everyone else said...

    Digital Camera Suggestion

If you can get a C770 for $300 you'll be getting a bargain. I have a slightly older model of basically the same camera (C750) and if you go this route, you'll love the 10X zoom! I'm no photography master, but beware of fuzzy pictures when zooming in and in less than optimal light. Other than...

    Question on draw weight

I'm very new to bow-hunting and my hunting buddy (11 year old step-daughter) is interested as well, so this discussion fits right in as a topic I've recently researched. I was curious what minimum draw-weight I needed her to work up to in order to be effective next year when she'll be old...
