Why alternate? I buy a point each year and hunt the same year with a OTC tag. Hunt every year you want to OTC until you have enough points for your desired unit. I just reread what you said, that had me confused with a unit only asking for 1 point. As the unit I'm saving for requires 10 for archery.

I'm going to get a hard map and definitely waterproof it. I will check mytopo.com I found BLM, topo, and herd seasonal home range maps on huntdata.com. If I read it correctly I can have them overlaid and have them printed in 3D.

I'm heading to Colorado bowhunting elk at the end of the month. I have been looking around at different maps and haven't found any one that really stands out above the rest. Do any of you have a preferred site for getting maps from? I need to get one ordered sooner than later.
