    Welcome to my home, birds.

    That is hilarious!!!!

    Grass vs alfalfa

I love doing that - deer go nuts over that stuff instantly. Find sheds the next weekend sometimes even!

IA farm pond bass fishing video

Supposed to be about 5 acres but culvert is plugged so can rise to as much as 7-8 acres. I've got a siphon going on it during the year that lowers it down to ~5 acres. Hoping next year to lower it enough to open the culvert back up to keep things consistent.

    Irony to crossbow debate ….

My exact thoughts - this is gold. Love the thought of Olympics adding them to archery, lol

    EHD

It's bad in western IA, we didn't have many deer to start and it really knocked em back.

    Shotgun 2 buck

I wish I'd have filmed this hunt - it was a fun one with my dad and my middle son! This buck is one we don't recognize from previous years, he looked 4.5, maybe older, and we decided he'd be a good one to shoot if the came in. This field is one that deer tend to come out to earlier than...

    Switchgrass

I like that - we got "burnt" trying to spring kill brome before but we had no follow up applications. I bet we give this a shot this spring. Probably will burn it early in March to get some green up on it and get some early growth to begin the kill process. Thank you, really appreciate the input!

    Switchgrass

You got me motivated to get some stuff we had seeded to switch back into switch. We thought we had the brome eliminated but after a few years of not burning brome took it back over. Switch 99.9% gone. We burned it late this spring in hopes to set the brome back and it did, some, but it's...

    First shotgun buck

My oldest son is 5.5 and in his second season hunting. He has shot two does and a small 7pt buck. This year he was looking for a "fur mounter" sized buck. I thought for sure we'd get it done during youth season, I was home for two weeks on paternity leave as we had our third son Sept 21st...

No Doe shooting for ME…. U guys down?

Interesting, don't find many people over here with the QDM mindset! We've got a couple neighbors who are great, that makes or breaks an area real fast. Especially over here where timber blocks are small and far from one another.

No Doe shooting for ME…. U guys down?

I'll chime in from Harrison county - worse hunting and deer heard we've had in 22 years of hunting here. Numbers are awful. We have one farm where they are ok. Son shot one and brother shot one, we do rely on deer meat for the family and used to shoot 15+ a year. Now if we shoot a handful...

HOW LONG LIVE? Stomach & maybe liver- PIC!!!

Dad hit one where you showed in the picture Skip, except it was quartering too. That buck took us nearly 24 hours to find and we got real lucky grid searching to stumble on him in a terrace in a cut corn field. Pure luck we actually found him. He got one lung and liver and guts on the way...
