I say yes, too early. My best stands have always come with frost seeding in late winter in Mid MO. Anytime during the month of march seems to be perfect every year. I don't know what it is, maybe the seed sprouts on some "Indian summer" days in Jan/Feb and then another long, late cold spell...

Can use a drill for any switch variety, doesn't have to be a NWSG drill or box. Switch is one of the only NWSGs that doesn't have parachutes on it.. Flows through like rape or a small clover seed.

Rates can vary based on use of the field (wildlife vs screening, etc) as well as planting method. 10 lbs/acre is good for broadcast + packing. If drilling, I'd go a lower rate for wildlife, maybe 5-6lbs / acre. If using for screening, I'd be drilling 8 lbs / acre.

Spring peas / Field Peas may not last the summer heat, depending on where you're at. Weed control will be your biggest issue with field peas. They are a cool season plant, so you may lose the field come summer. Other options could be to mix / drill spring wheat in with the peas to help with...

Agree 100%. This weight range is a good blend of lethality and trajectory. Pick what works best for you. Another thing that is overlooked at times is arrow diameter. Smaller diameter arrows tend to be more forgiving for pass through and wind drift. Handy for those shooting lower KE setups.

How are the neighbors? Given the small size, will you have opportunities to purchase more around you in the future? Never know, but number of surrounding tracts can up the opportunity.
