Has anyone seen or heard of the 260" deer shot in iowa by one of the whitetail freaks members? Its mentioned on there sight but they are yet to put up the story or pics.
Ill also add a horror story of mine own to maby give you some comfort.
A couple years ago I started hunting a new farm, a couple weeks into it a clean 170 class 10 walks out to check some does. Ive never seen him before but Ive only been on this property for 2 weeks. long story short I ended...
Thats about an impossible question for abunch of strangers. But since you want some opinions these are the things I would be asking myself if I were you.
- How big was he?
- do you have any history with him other than this one time you saw him?
- what els do you have running around the farm...
you can use a plastic garbage can and either build a base for it or hang it from a tree. get a couple feet of 2-3" pvc and a flange. cut a hole the size of the flange in the bottom of the garbage can, screw the flange to it, stick the pvc in and your done. Mine had tripod stands with a catch...
I sat cozy in a dbl bull blind and had a giant come in checking does. Just wish I would have brushed it in better, he Hung up at 60 yds not liking the blind.
RainX helps unless moisture is getting inside the camera itself and freezing. I've had both happen but RainX has helped in a lot of different scenarios.
Your just full of optimisim;) some day someone on here is going to feel bad enough for you they may let you hunt some land where theres actually deer!
I saw these somewhere also and thought it was a good idea. But dont know much about them. I do know they add around 70 grains to the back of the arrow, which helps balance it out which im sure would only help with arrow flight but im not sure you dont want more weight up front for penetration.
I'm not throwing you under the buss, I was just referring to your earlier post when you compared a couple immature bucks down wind to the many mature does sligh1 had down wind. I don't care either way, I will never use one based on the fact that the day I have to lug in a contraption into the...
There's a big difference between a 1.5 year olds nose and a mature doe or bucks nose. Show me a 5+ year old for or buck down wind of you in a high pressure area and see what happens.
What type of broadhead were you using? I hit one very low a couple years ago, I mean an inch or two from missing, but the Rage opened him up enough he bleed out after 24 hrs. It was all briskett no vitals but the Rage left a gaping wound. It looked like some one sliced his briskett with a sword.
Mitch Rompala's cousin shot it illegally and it fell dead on state lines, so now there trying to figure out which state has jurisdiction to take it. I heard they may cut it in half!
Or maby you should get a PMA membership!
Or maby try reading the thread from the beginning:grin:
magically it never came back up since I wrote the post! And Yes all I had to do was hit the little X but it kept freezing up and would take 15-20 seconds to go away each time, and as soon as it would go away 5 seconds later it would pop back up. I about snapped!
