I saw 10 bucks from the stand saturday morning. Rattled or Grunted the majority of them into bow range. No shooters, but a couple of them were really tempting! I also listened to several horn crashing fights. It was pretty exciting.

I have yet to see a shooter out in the daylight. I have been seeing does, and lots of buck sign. They are really starting to make scrapes and rubs, but I think it is all done at night. I tried rattling over the weekend with no success.

It all depends. The deer are probably going to be out in the fields at night. So if your area is mostly a bedding/transition area, I'd say you might be ok. It sure wouldn't help anything though.

Last years first gun season was well below zero, taking account the wind chill. I wore about everything I owned and was still cold. Just bring lots and lots of layers!

I would put him in the 120 range, 125 absolute max. He is a nice 3 1/2 year old.

My personal opinion is that an attempt at a head shot is never ethical. Fulldrw, if it was a shot you were not comfortable taking on a doe than I totally agree with not taking the same shot at a 170" buck. In fact, I would be less likely to take a questionable shot at a large buck...
