A slow day in the stand

One of the previous posts I read addressed the issue of one having problems with people walking in on his stand. I too have had this problem over the last few days and yesterday I decided to have alittle fun with it.
I was sitting in my Climbing stand yesterday when (as usual over the past few days) a hunter walked withing 20 yds of my stand on the way to his, about 1/3 mile to the west of mine with easy access that does NOT entail walking near my stand. I had milled the idea of messing with him and during my trip into get lunch at a local gas station, My friend and I came up with a rather amusing idea.
As said hunter was approaching my stand, I quickly grabbed my bow retrieving line and my quiver and proceded to tie 3 arrows too it, in much the same fashion as one would tie a trot line for fish. I then hung it off the side of my stand and waiting till he was in Vocal range and started yelling "HEREEEEEE FISHY FISHY FISHY" when he got into range of my banter. He proceded directly to my location and asked me "What the hell, I thought I was doing". I replied "Well, The last few days you've walked into my stand, knowing well enough that I was here in the tree trying to fill my tag" He looked at me with a blank stare as I proceded to advise him that his shortcut had ran deer off my stand the last 3 days and with him continuing his route I had a better chance of catching a fish from my tree than getting my deer

That's funny. I don't want to hijack your thread but I had a similar thing happen to me for the last couple years. 2 years ago, I was hunting some public land when in one day I had a cub scout troop hike to within 30 yards of my stand, then 1/2 an hour later 2 women on horses rode by. I got down and went to ground hunt a different area. 30 minutes later, here come the horses again. I decided I'd talk to them. I can tell you this much, Horses don't like guys in camo very much.

Fast forward to this year. I'm hunting this same ridge and here come those same women on horses. They pass me w/o incident and I was kind of happy to see them as things were slow and I was hoping they would push some deer to me. They didn't :-(. 30 minutes later they return, but this time are lost and cannot find their trail. Back and fourth across the ridge, they go. One passes about 10 yeards behind my tree and and not a clue in the world I'm there. She get's 30 yards past me and hangs a U turn and come right at my tree. I'm not about to spook the horses by moving so I just watch, but know she's about 5 seconds from seeing me. My timing was just right as she looked up and let out the loudest blood curling screem I've ever heard while grabbing her heart. I didn't want to move and spook her horse anymore. I just said Hi and the trail you are looking for is about 30 yards behind you.

I'm pretty sure they won't be back out there this year again.

Sorry 1arrow, was in a hurry to go sit in my stand this afternoon and left out what he said after my lecture.
He was quick to say "Well, this is public land and I'll do what I (insert explitive) please!"
Needless to say he abruptly walked off after that, continuing on his way to his stand.
I was thinking of going to the local grocery store and buying a fresh fish and putting it in his stand with a note saying "I CAUGHT ONE!!", but I think I'll just move my climber and not stir the pot anymore than I already have
