Dad hit one where you showed in the picture Skip, except it was quartering too. That buck took us nearly 24 hours to find and we got real lucky grid searching to stumble on him in a terrace in a cut corn field. Pure luck we actually found him. He got one lung and liver and guts on the way...

This is spot on - the past few years we've noticed a number of deer we pass that never show back up. Which for us is not normal, if a buck has been on cam for three years and we let him go, he's confirmed alive in the spring and then disappears going into year four. I got to assume he had EHD...

I'll start off by saying I don't like wearing gloves ever. Only time I wear them is when the hunting gets really cold. I never found a pair of warm gloves I like that ALSO didn't restrict my movement, grip, etc. Until... I got a pair of these. Love them!!! Wore them in AK on a moose hunt...

Just shared the video of my son's first buck. Video was from 2022 but just got done editing it. Now sharing the video from 2022 of his first deer, a doe. A memory we'll never forget!

Thank you, he's ate up with the outdoors. Maybe even more than his older brother. So fun making these memories together. Almost feel bad going out hunting on my own any more. These types of hunts mean more to me.

My thoughts are the same - could upgrade to a 10mm for a little more power. I carried a 9mm when in AK moose hunting. Buffalo Bore ammo was what I had as well. Even got some for my Ruger LCP .380. haha (not that I plan on carrying that for any type of bear ever)

Been noticing more vultures around. Seems like the EHD deer we've found only bugs would eat them? Not mammals or birds?

We let a field go this spring, what we planted never grew but pig weed sure flourished. Deer heaven! Mowed and sprayed it off to try a fall plot... and now it hasn't rained for a month and isn't going to for another 10+ days
