    Broadhead discussion

A 3 blade diameter of 1.25 " has about the same cutting surface as a 2" blade mech. I've shot plain Jane 3 blade Muzzys for 25 years. Don't think I've ever had a broken blade? Over 100 deer and 40 bear. Yes, a few bent blades. Been in on 100s of bloodtrails over the years. 2 things have I've...

    Pumpkins

Most pumpkins/squash are 100/110 day plants. I'd try to replant them and by early august,August, they aren't growing well, go to brassica. Sure sucks that happened. They are not very tolerant to chemicals. How'd they do last year? Dammit, got a sever t storm coming. 3 days ago, praying for...

Pics taken at 7:15p.m. June 24. Was raining/cloudy all day till about an hour ago so I didn't expect much but they did grow an inch or 2. The pumpkins were in standing water 2 hours ago. Got just shy of 3" in the past 3 days. Edited too add, after 15 years of planting pumpkin, I never noticed...

    Pumpkins

Try it Skip. It may not be to late to get some going. I've got about 1/2 acre total this year planted. Watched 100s of deer bypass corn, beans, brassica and make a beeline for them.

    Brassicas

Seems way to early jbohn? I'm not far from Canada and July 25th is my target date. I once planted them into super dry soil on that date and didn't get a rain untill 3rd week of August. They germinated and came up increible!. Had a first late frost that year though, that helped.

    First Time Broadcasting Soybeans

Skeptical about that? MANY farmers here roll their beans after planting.

    Pumpkins

I'll be stranded (ok with me) grin for a few days at my cabin due to heavy rains so I'll post a pic each day about same time each day on progress. Also, I plant Mammoth brand Sunflowers every year for fall buck rubbing posts. They really hammer them. Pic 1, taken 730 p.m.june 22. #2, 7...

A small foodplot as of 7:30 pm. June 22 after a bit over an inch of rain. Incredible how much the pumpkin plants grew today.

    First Time Broadcasting Soybeans

I tried a few times broadcasting them in small plots. With real good rains, they did "ok". However, strong winds seemed to rip them up badly.

Hmmm?, that sounds like a great idea. However, late season and no bugs, minnows would die, decompose and stink up the water no?

Is Your Area Wet or Dry This Summer?

After watering my pumpkins yesterday, I was surprised today when I pulled in about 3oclock. It was 90* and strong winds. The first plot (about) 100 plants looked terrible. Leaves looked droopy and off colored. Picked out 2 random plants, gave them a gallon of water and within 10 minutes, the...
