Well, I didn't log the 100 hours in the double bull that Limb talked of, but needless to say, I know all of the details of the inside of my blind pretty well. The sting of 4 "near miss" arrows earlier in the season (all in the same afternoon) was getting stronger as I pondered another round of tag stew. Friday night I headed for the blind...expecting to find it in the ravine after several 50+ mph winds this week. When I found it still perfectly standing, I decided it was time for another 3-4 hour vigil. Fortunately, it only took about 15 minutes before this guy won a race with 2 others to my breeding pair decoy setup. At 18 yards, it was a real "muzzy moment", and he didn't take another step. What a rush!
Oops...forgot the vital stats: 21 lbs, 9" beard, and 1" rounded spurs typical of a 2nd year bird.
