This is my first entry. Thought I would give it a shot. I really enjoy seeing the deer that are taken and reading the stories of the hunt. I've been out 2-3 days a week from Oct. 3rd until Nov. 13 when I shot this seven point buck. I shoot a crossbow because of a herniated disc and arthritic shoulders. This is just my second year bow hunting and I am still learning. Pupster has been schooling me, I guess you're never too old to learn. A week ago Sat. I got into my stand at 6:15am and did'nt see a thing until 7:45. A few does and button bucks went by but no bucks. Then about 8:30 a basket eight pt. chased a doe by me and I grunted him to a stop but I could'nt get him to come closer. Twenty minutes later the seven pt. buck I shot wanders by and crosses behind me to where a couple of does had gone and I could see him under another of my stands. I wait and watch more does and button bucks move around and a buddy calls and says he shot at a ten pt. buck but can't find his arrow and I tell him if he finds it call back and I will come help him look for the buck. Before I can put my cell phone back in my pocket I look over my shoulder and here comes the seven pt. buck again. This time he gives me a perfect shot at about 20 yards and I stick him right behind the left shoulder. I can still see a few inches of the arrow so I don't know how good he is hit but I watch him run about fifty yards and stop and wobble in the front end and then lay down. That is sure a good sight. He's not a monster but he sure will be good eating. By the way I filled my antlerless tag Oct. 10th. Sorry I got so longwinded. Keep up the photos and stories.
