As we know we are all managers based on our decision to harvest or not. The decisions we make afield are important to the quality of our passion, and more importantly continued quality hunting for future generations of hunters.

Some areas may require more deer harvested while others area it may not be necessary. In those areas where larger harvests are needed this is a great program. The most important benefit of this program is the opportunity to help Iowa's less fortunate. More than 6,000 deer were donated by hunters to HUSH this past season, generating over 1 million meals to Iowa's less fortunate. Listed below are links to county quotas and information about the program.

To Participate in HUSH: 2012-2013 Season

All deer hunters must have their regular deer permit to take deer, whether or not they donate the deer to HUSH. Donated deer have to be tagged before being transported, just as any other harvested deer.

Any legally taken wild deer from any season and any sex may be donated at any one of the lockers as shown on the HUSH Locker List map.

Deer must be field dressed; lockers prefer a clean carcass without mud on the hide.

Lockers also prefer the carcass not be frozen.

Deer hunters must fill out a Hunter Card at the locker for each deer killed being donated.

Lockers cannot require hunters to skin or bone HUSH deer.

There is no additional fee to be paid at the locker.
