Here's my camp set up, I'll add a YouTube video later.

Found five sheds while I was out there. Only picked up four of them, left one. Found a pretty awesome moose skull too! Didn't pack it out or get pictures. Didn't take pictures of all the sheds, just video.

Sunset Day 1

Spent the rest of the time packing. Shot my elk on Day 2.

Missed one Day 1 at a wallow and went back over there and shot a bull on Day 2. I walked to the top of the ridge around 9:30am and heard bugling really close. Walked down into the trees and started calling/scraping a tree. Ended up calling a 250" 5x5 in and decided I didn't want to shoot him. He stood at 50 yards and then walked off. I thought he was the one bugling but then heard something down the hill.

I proceeded down the mountain and heard a bugle super close and thought he was headed down the mountain and I started booking it down cow calling. His calls kept getting louder and I couldn't figure out why.

That's when I spotted him 100 yards away bedded down by now it was 10:30am, I spent the next hour and 20 minutes creeping down to him. He bugled a lot and I attempted to get video. I snuck up to 20 yards and he heard me. He stood up, bugled, and streached out. Then proceeded down the mountain. I moved to see if I could get a clear shot through the trees with no luck. He heard me again and was curious and headed right to me. He then saw me and kept coming in. I knew he was about to bust so I put my 30 yard pin behind his shoulder and he turned. I was still able to get lungs and heart. He ran about 75 yards and piled up.

Bdahms helped pack out and ended up finally getting it all done the next night.

Awesome hunt and can't wait for my cow elk hunt in Decemeber and two doe antelope in November. I might actually make it to Missouri this year too.

Looks like it was awesome! Congratulations. I couldn't stand my feet being that wet while hiking around.

Unreal. Still think it's staged from a small high fence enclosure! And those feet look like the dudes on "The Walking Dead".
Wow- well done. That's a heck of hunt & trip.

Beautiful scenery, sweet bull, sounds like a great experience minus the old man feet.

Congratulations

Congrats!! I hope to make a similar post in about 7 weeks...only I will make sure my feet stay drier and aren't so green! Yikes! :)

Nicely done though, that looks like a lot of fun!

Hardest thing I have ever done in my life physically was pack part of that elk out. Took many many hours but we got it done. Nice work again mr tennis shoes bieber

Great video! When you were getting some close ups of your antlers and the cape I could just smell the way my elk smelled when I recovered it. I assume most elk antlers smell about the same way, not sure what the smell is but I loved it.
