Stand in an oak.
Couple of 2x4 and some plywood.
It's seen its better days. Lol.
Can't imagine how many deer have walked under it.?

Could not afford a Bought stand so this is what I did.
Build MANY this way. I'd dare say there are over 100 scattered around many properties.

Must have been a good spot back then as of now, I have good ladders stands up within 30 yards to the south, east and north.

When was the last time it was used?!? Shoot some deer out of it? That’s in good shape for 38 years!!!!
I remember using PALLETS one time!!!! Securing back to tree somehow (I forget) & then using steel cable to support weight kinda like how a tree stand is built. Crazy. Oh!! & using 12” “big nails” from Menards to save $!!!

Good times. Some good spots will probably be good 100 years from now!!!

Used it a couple years. Untill I could afford a Bought portable.
Don't recall if I ever shot a deer out of it but can say..., I've killed over 50 within 50 yards of it since I built it.

We have several of these on our farm we bought 3 years ago. Would love to talk with the guy(s) who put them up — how long ago, deer harvested, etc. :)
