I've never hunted over a decoy, but was thinking about using a 3D target since I've got them lying around. What do you guys think? Is this a good or bad idea?
It will probably work fine but they are heavy to carry and kind of tough to get descented. They plastic one are much better in that sense but for a visual aid in decoying, it should work out.
I used a 3d target last year and it worked fine. I would leave it outside for a few days and give it a good covering of scent killer. They are a bit tough to carry through the woods, but work fine once you get it set up. Good luck and let me know how it works out. I shot a 140 ten pointer last year at 5 yards, and I owe it all to that delta doe target!!!
