Not much story here but I shot this bird last Wednesday evening. He came in somewhat quiet except for the strutting.
23.5 pounds, 10.5" beard and .75" spurs.
Shooting this bird allowed me to hunt with my nephew Saturday. I rolled out of bed before 3:30 am and off to his spot we went. We worked some birds on the roost but they didnt cooperate right away until we made a move on them. The repositioning did the trick as 3 loud mouth long beards strolled in and the strutter stayed.
He shot him at 22 yards at 8:35am.
The bird rolled down thru the grass so he looks a little wet so sorry about the picture quality. We also ended up finding a little over 2 pounds of mushrooms.
