A 4 minute hunt.

This year, we are allowed 1 extra do tag for my area.
About 3:30 Friday I though, ah heck,why not.
Got dressed,screwed on some broadheads and popped into a ladderstand.
Lit a smoke and halfway through, I looked over my shoulder and here comes a doe. Snuffed out my cig,grabbed the bow and shot. She ran 40 yards,stopped,did the wobble and tipped over into the river.
Kinda a cold retrieve. Lol.
First hunt of the year lasted about 4 minutes.

It used to be a fantastic coon/mink trapping river.
Not now. Huge floods over the last 20 years wiped them out.
My cabin is about 100 yards from that picture and have not seen a coon here in 10 years. Hard to believe aint it.
