Nice birds! I'm sure your son will remember that bird for the rest of his life. You can be proud that you were there with him.

That's great!! I tried to get my ten year old to hit paper comfortably this year but had trouble after the second shot. Now I had him shoot a pump 20 gauge, do you think a 12 gauge beretta silver mallard would have less kick for him?
 
WHen I started shooting I could reach the forearm of the 20 gauge pump. I had to bring it down to my knee to pump it. Dad had a 1187 12 gauge that I soon started shooting. It worked out much better. Actually probably kicked less because the gun weighed more. Let him try it and see what is more comfortable. Start him with light clay pigeon loads.
