Adjusting Draw Weight

I recently had the draw weight on my bow adjusted, and was just curious if I wanted to make a minor change of a few lbs, would I need to max it out and then come back to the desired weight? I watched it done so I know how many turns out they went to the current position. Haven't ever messed with it myself, so just curious.

Ok, I didn't know if there was something special about maxing it out first, or if that was just so they were sure each was turned the same # of times.

The main reason you would max the bow out first would be to make sure that you have equal turns on both limbs when you reduce your weight.

Its not exactly accurate but a good rule of thumb to go by is it is about 3 pounds less for every complete turn.
