That is one BIG cat!!!! Awesome markings too. I would love to get a pic of one on my place. How high is your feeder? Just trying to figure out how tall he is.
 
Skully, for reference the top of the feed bunk rails are 24". The top rail is a treated 2x6 so it looks like to me that the top of his head would be about 18".

In 1977 they were listed on the endangered list.

In 2001 they were downlisted from endangered to threatened list.

In 2003 based on a two year study they were removed from the threatened list.

In parts of Iowa they are now very common.
 
Very cool!

I've yet to see one but have seen tracks and think I heard one earlier this fall. That guy looks like he's been eating well. Are you missing any pets?
 
There are supposed to be bobcat in every county in Iowa now. Still hoping to see one someday.
