We built a barn house in 2012, 1 1/2 story with house upstairs and horse barn downstairs. I poured my slab on frost footings and stick framed on that. I have seen way too many older pole barns where the poles are rotted off to be confidant in building a house that way. Good luck with your project

Sounds good we'll have to get up to Wapello Chiefs Bowmen north of Bloomfield for some 3d action. One of the best shoots around.
