BFO planting dates?

I've got a few bags of Buck Forage Oats I am planning on planting and then top dressing with a clover/alfalfa/chicory mix. Just curious if everyone thinks it is too early to get it in the ground or when the best time would be?? I did a similar mix last year around Sept. 1 with pretty good success but this year I would like to try to get a little more growth before the frost if I could. Thanks.

Like I said in another post with clover, around the middle of August is a good time (with rain). That should give a really good stand for fall.

DH make sure you clip it if it get's to long. They like it fresh and tender.
