My son snapped this photo a couple of weeks ago from the back seat of my truck. While coming down a switchback he magically appeared as we came around a corner. My initial reaction,"crap my pants". My two boys did not see him at first and wondered what I was reacting to while they cracked up.
Have seen him a few more time since roaming the neighborhood. Mule deer aren't that smart but he certainly knows where he is safe inside the city limits. We nicknamed him Grandpa.
