BULLFROGS....

Wondering how many guys hunt the old croaker, and if so whats your favorite recipies... I hunt them hard in the summer and love frog legs, I'm always looking for a new way to cook'em up. Please throw out some secrets, if ya got'em

I used to do it all the time back in the day. It was a good excuse to stay out all night and drink alot of beer. Got alot of frogs too. Dont care to eat them but i do.

I fish a little creek off the mississippi and while i catch smallies my buddy walks along the banks with a pole and hook and catches big bullfrogs til hes tired of catching them. Ill find out his recipe the next time i talk to him. They are pretty dang tasty. Have you tried alligator Typ250. If not ill pick some up when i get that smoked sturgeon.

t250, take the frog legs and soak them for a day in salt water. Then cover them real good with tony's creol seasoning, and coat them with Louisiana fish fry and deep fry them. Those things are awesome that way, o yeah, serve with cold beer.

I havent had frog legs to eat since I was a kid.

I hunt them all summer also, but not for the reasons you do. In the spring they get into my koi ponds and spawn. If I don't get the eggs out, the tadpoles take over and compete with the koi fry for food. I took out about 5,000 tadpoles in 2 days last year. I also spend alot of time catching Hellgrammits and Dragonfly larve. Here are a couple dozen Dragonfly larve that I removed from one of my 800 gallon tanks.

I spend the rest of the summer trying to remove the adults frogs. Adults Bull frogs will eat koi up to about 6" long. They usually get flung over the fence for the neighbors chocolate lab to play with. Dad gets the leapord frogs for catfishing.

I had close to 10 lbs of legs in my freezer a few years ago when it defrosted. The stench after returning from a week of vacation was enough to ..... well I don't have a craving for frog legs anymore.

Bick, those dragonfly nymphs are some dang good bait.

Froglegs are a tasty treat. My buddy and I hit a few farm ponds in the area in the summer. A red twister tail on a treble hook with long pole and short line makes for some good "giggin".

We usually soak them for a day in salt water and then bread and fry. Pretty good eats...but like snapping turtle, they can be a pain to clean.

Maybe i need someone to whip up some cajun turtle soup.. HOT!! then maybe i would like it.. I grilled mine with BBQ and honey... I almost puked!

I hunt them every summer but we make it fun by using our bows! It is a blast, I have a pretty good dvd of it. We just fry them like hot wings. I do love them.

Roll the turtle in flour with seasoning of your choice, (Cajun if you like) brown in a pan, and then put in a roasting pan with a little water and ccok at about 200 -220 degrees for about half a day making sure to keep a small amount of water in it..... It will fall off the bone and is awsome.

Bickel, that pic is gross.....

i hate bugs...
