Catfishing dam tail-waters (Saylorville Res)

I think I'm going to try catching some cats this evening below the Saylorville dam.. any one have any experience catfishing there or other tail waters in general... should I just plan on fishing the eddies or should I try to get my bait out in the faster current.. ill be fishing from shore... I'm thinking the edges of where the eddy meets the current is probably best, but I think I have good enough tackle to keep it out there a little further if needed

Here in Illinois the best time to fish behind the dams of lakes is after a major rain. We tore them up this year. Fish right in the current, we used cut shad and Sonnys. Good luck
