Chase is on

Well the last two evenings that I have hunted (tonight and Tues) I have finally seen some serious chasing going on. Tonight two small 8 pointers were harassing every doe in the woods, I most have watched one of them chase close to 15 different does over a 2 hour period. He and the does were pretty out of it and at some point in the evening I could have shot every deer I laid eyes on. Now if that big boy would just get on his feet.

Little guys are always out there doing there thing early... big boys are just chilling out, waiting for the time to be right. Though, I'm seriously considering taking next week off on top of the week after.

Its been pretty slow in WI.

Kind of the calm before the storm.

Rattled in one small buck today but thats about it.

Went out last night and tipped the can over a few times and grunted. Wasn't five minutes and had a mid fifties ten pt. come 400 yds across a crp field and work by some scrapes at 15 yds (no shot) then went after a doe. We gruted and stopped him at 35 yds and my buddy shot right under him. He went off blowing through the whole woods. I waited 15 minutes or so and hit the horns and did some aggressive gunting. Had 2 more 140ish deer come in right at the end of shooting light.

It's really been getting better every day. Next week should be exciting...

Still seeing dink bucks chase does everyday I hunt. The doe will run circles and go back to normal activity.

It's still like a 21 year olds first night in the bar.

The big boys will stroll in before closing time.....

I saw 10 bucks from the stand saturday morning. Rattled or Grunted the majority of them into bow range. No shooters, but a couple of them were really tempting! I also listened to several horn crashing fights. It was pretty exciting.
