Corbens 2014 youth buck

The 1st 11 days of youth season was hot and buggy, so we did not start hunting untill last wednsday, as the front was coming. We were hunting a 6 yr old buck that has busted his rack up early every year, a real jerk, and an old wider non typical with bad teethe. He always has big wads of food lodged in his cheeks.

Wednsday the narrow 11 pt came out, feeding 120 yds away, but before Corben could pull off a shot, he left the field, for whatever reason.

Thursday the wide buck came out about the same 120-130 yds. Everything looked perfect at the shot. He mule kicked and ran off the field. No blood, short white hairs, and new pictures the next day....dang, shot a tad low.
The bullet entered low brisket on the right side and appears to be lodged in this puss pocket in his left arm pit.

Well friday was a CSI day trying to figure out what happened, but by saturday it was clear we were starting over. We went back to his same lucky blind, but things were real slow. We were counting the minutes untill we could pack up, without feeling like quitters, when the 11 popped out 150 yards away and went to a small pond to drink. After 10 minutes he appeared again and Corben made a great shot on him, putting him down right there in the clover. I am very happy to get him out early, so we can hopefully keep some awesome 3 yr old bucks I have, here, safe.

A couple nice young bucks to take his place.

Corben's gonna need some more wall space with all these good bucks he's putting down!
Congrats on another great buck
