I was wondering if any of you have ever pruned your crabapples to promote a more upright tree with a good central leader. I bought a bunch of crabs through the Pheasants Forever, over the past few years and some have now produced fruit but they are pretty shrubby. One of the main reasons for planting them was for some good cover next to my warm season grasses. Just wondered if any of you have regreted pruning them or have the majority just let them do there thing?
