Decoy? Doe or Buck.

I have been using a buck decoy exclusively for thepast two weeks and have had numerous bucks come in to challenge my decoy in that time. I have been video taping them, including the one that I shot on this past Mon. morning . So I would stick with a buck decoy and keep it scent free. Good Luck
 
Ditto. Buck decoy is definitely the ticket right now. Spray it down after you get it set up. Good luck.

I use a decoy a lot, i hardly dont go out without it this time of year.
having said that, i have never had a positive reaction to a doe decoy, i think the sexual frustration of a rutting buck is more likely to make him confront an intruder. not that doe decoys dont work, but in my experience, bucks are more effective.....

we killed two bucks last weekend over my decoy.....they are working it now....

I agree 110% with above Buck decoy. I have had great luck with the carry lite buck with good bucks.I just shot a 160" 10 pointer yesterday that was getting ready to destroy my decoy. However small bucks and does may shy from it so if your goal is a mature buck the buck decoy is the ticket.Ideally a field edge or open spot in the woods where you expect to see bucks cruising.If you are in a doe bedding area and plan to use the does to bring a buck by might leave the decoy in the truck.

If your into hunting dvd's Alex Rutledge from the H.S. Primetime video's uses decoys almost exclusively, I learned alot watching him.

I am still curious to hear how anyone has done with the Flambeau Boss buck decoy, or the bobble head decoy I think the boss decoy might be a little to intimidating...
 
Gotta love the buck decoy this time of year! I have the Carry-lite version and had all sizes of bucks come into it. The little bucks act like they want to almost be "friends" with it. All bigger bucks have come right in so far ready to whoop a$$.
