awhile back someone posted a table with information that said a deer with a certain inch girth of it's chest would tell you roughly what it weighed on the hoof. Does any one have that, or know where I can find it?
Thanx in advance

Here's the information from a table in the "NAHC Wild Game Cookbook".

going by the field dressed weight to actual meat leads me to believe this table is a bit off. What do others think???

We usually weigh deer field dressed and then bone out all the meat and take it to the locker. Doesn't seem like we ever get that much boned out meat as they say you should.
