Today was a great day to be hunting turkeys. My good buddy Zach and I decided to hunt together this morning and see if lady luck could bring us a double. The toms were thundering on the ridge but we couldn't hear them in the small timber where we had last seen the birds.
To our surprise a couple hens flew our direction at first light and then shortly there after two toms and a jake flew down from the ridge and immediately started to strut. Then with a little persuasion from Zack's awesome deke set & my calling they committed and it was on. They ran right in and was at 8 yards with in seconds and after a little confusion with the audible we were still able to pull off a double my first and I think a third for Zach.
