Drink Up Me Hearties !

After finishing my carved powder horn I found myself still in the horning mood. I had an old longhorn laying around that was much too large to use as a powder horn so I cut it up and made a rum horn.
Walnut end plugs with hand forged strap staples and I lined the inside with bees wax to insure a good seal and taste. After all that it received an antique finish.
Sort of a fun little project.;)

Very Nice

The Rum horn is a beauty……………..but where is the parrot? :D

Seriously, how much liquid can that mini keg hold? :drink2:

Bruce, they were actually fairly common up to the 19th centuries. There were also salt and pepper horns, spice horns, flint and steel horns, you name it. Horn made a great water tight container for supplies.:way:
Glad you like it!
