Dry

Anyone else getting concerned with how dry it's getting? The beans we received from PF this year had about a 2-5% germination rate and we just finished our replanting yesterday. The soil has some moisture a few inches down but if we don't get rain soon it's gonna get bad. What's everyone else seeing out there?

Grass is going dormant. Some trees shedding some leaves. Planted some crimson clover 9 days ago suppose to be ahead of a rain. No rain and no clover. Looks like maybe some rain Thurs.

some of the corn is starting to die off down here in the sw part of the state. We didn't even get a tenth of a inch of rain from the past few days. Seems like it either went North or South of us. 30% chance of rain wednesday then not another chance for the next several days. The 90+ degree heat really dried things up here.

Big rains have been up in Minn and Wis, and extreme N-IA,,because jet stream energy,,which usually hangs around Iowa until July or Aug, went way far north. When it is up there,,we down here, get hit and miss stuff. I feel lucky,,my part of SE IA, got around 1/4 SAt and another 1/4 Mon Morn. JET Energy is actually supposed to be dwon in MO, Thurs. If it drops too far south we may miss good rain there too, but most of IA "supposed ",to get a soaking. Heat returns next week so we better get it!
