Dubuque Antler Auction

Wether you think antlers should be sold or not, this weekend at the Dubuque fairgrounds there will be more antler than you can shake a stick at. (big stick) And free antler scoring....a fun weekend for sure.

Do you know if the Antlers will be sold with some assurance or certification that the deer they came from was harvested legally? If not, what keeps them from selling poached deer antlers?

thanks for your input.

I did not post this to get into a debate on the ethics of selling antlers, that has been covered way too many times on here and every other forum. It's legal to sell them in Iowa and I know the DNR visits this show every year. Besides that, about half of this auction is dedicated to sheds....which are pretty hard to poach.

I wasn't trying to debate the issue again, you know my opinion, I was just wondering if the antler sets come with any sort of documentation or tags to ensure they were legally harvested, Do you know if they do?

Thank you.
