Eyecon camera's

I bought the Mantis (the one that you can angle the camera head) about 3 weeks ago. Pic quality kinda really sucks and the night pics are all black. Is this camera broken or is this normal for these camera's? It's going back to bps either way this weekend. I just need to know if I exchange it for the same camera or get something else.

I have a eyecon quickshot and pics are good and it never seems to screw up.
