Farm Help

Looking for opinions on where to search for a farm hand in south central Iowa area. Have had full time worker in past, but may consider a couple part time positions? It would be mostly habitat type work as the row crop and hay ground is leased out. Someone that is handy with equipment( tractors and skid loaders) and general carpentry would be ideal. Hunting/fishing and trapping rights would be included. Im thinking of maybe going into high schools to look for recent grads?

These are tough ones. It’s hard to find the “right guy”. What folks are trying to do is ideally combine 2 worlds:
#1: extensive knowledge of farming: agronomy + machinery abilities
+
#2: a hard core hunter mind that also brings an understanding of biology & wildlife management.

Then u have your 3rd element that may be the most important: pure drive, hustle & a dude that can pound it out when no one is looking or watching over. Clearly you have the final element of finding someone who is honest, moral and has integrity.
IMO- when you have a young guy who can grind, you need someone who really knows the whole package who can train & oversee them. Check the projects as they are in progress.
