Came across this little guy this morning while turkey hunting. It was laying just off an old logging road. There was no sign of mama anywere but hopefully she will be back. Enjoy!

It's time for someone who is smarter than me to do some homework. Let's assume this fawn is only 2 days old. If you think it should be more or less then specify in your answer. On what date last fall was this fawn conceived?
I have heard of several other newborns in the last couple days and am wondering when the breeding occured within a day or 2 last fall. I know that the breeding can be spread out over a fairly large chunk of time, but this might give clues to when the early does were bred.

Well I did the math, but gestation period info I found on the web varies too greatly to know for sure.
Average gestation is 201 days which would put this fawn at about Oct. 31.
BUT gestation can be 195-212 days so that just screws everything up.
