Lots of people better off also!!! I look to see what I had 8 years ago and what I have now, what the people I work with had then and what they have now. I know not everyone is in the same boat but I just don't see things as bad as some do.
I know many people who have saved money, watched what they spent and bought a farm to call thier own. Not just to farm but to hunt. They are not rich but careful with money.

How about the 2,308 troops that have died in Iraq to date? Pretty sure they aren't doing so swell
.
36.9% of the Bush Tax Cuts this year are going to the best-off 1% = $55 billion - I guess they ain't too bad off
Our children, and our children's children won't be doing too good, unless Presidents #44-infinity step up and realize that the deficit is more than just a bunch of paper in a filing cabinet

Did you NOT get a tax cut? Of course the rich will get more dollars because of the tax cut, they earn more, do the math. If you earn $200,000 and get a 1% tax cut, you will get more money than if you earn $30,000 and get a 1% tax cut. This argument is based on so much ignorance its embarrassing. Now if you suggest that the rich should not get any tax cut, that is up for debate.

Any attempt at explaining tax policy will obviously be oversimplified, but it's nowhere near as simple as 1% = $1k for $100k/yr income, or $300 for a $30k/yr income, shall I repeat your comment for dramatic affect? [ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ] A majority of the tax cuts were targeted to supremely benefit the rich, i.e. eliminating the inheritence tax (or as they like to call it for propaganda reasons: the "death" tax), and also eliminating taxation of certain dividends (once again, the propaganda scheme is to label this as "double" taxation). I actually favor a flat tax across the board; a fixed and fair percentage that everyone pays regardless of income level. AND I also think that cutting taxes in a time of war is almost as stupid as lying your way to war to begin with...
almost.

I used the 1% as an example, because it was apparent by your response that you were just going to use the standard liberal line. Did you or did you NOT get a tax break? The richest wage earners get more dollars back, because they earn more, I would think with your profession, this would make sense. As far as the death tax, why should the children of someone who has bought and paid for their land, risk loosing their land that has been bought and paid for because they cannot afford to pay the taxes after the death of their parents? Flat tax, I'm all for it, and if you do any investigation at all, the richest citizens would love a straight flat tax of 10%, it would save them millions every year. Its not the wealthy that oppose a flat tax. I never thought that I would have to defend conservative values on this forum. As far as your comment accusing our president of “lying” to start a war, you comments are reprehensible, irresponsible, baseless and frankly Un-American. Regardless of what you think of the President, to accuse him of lying when some of our soldiers are giving the ultimate sacrifice so you and I have the freedoms that we do is disgusting and truly demeans what these fine soldiers do each and every day. I truly find it hard to believe that a liberal thinking mind would partake in the great sport of Deer and Turkey Hunting.
